| History and milestones |
| |
| August 2005 |
| The first experimental development of the application based on Latent Semantic Optimization is completed on a lab scale database. This application is not commercially viable, but proves ideally suited for the development of different LSO techniques. |
| |
| November 2005 |
| The modules for the web crawlers and web spiders perform their initial test runs. Different parsing techniques are also evaluated. |
| |
| End 2005 |
| By the end of 2005 we had met with several external consultancies to set the roadmap for the project. As a result of this process, the decision is made to attract external expertise for the different applications. |
| March 2006 |
| Initial foundation of the LSOtool® team, peopled with expertise from a variety of specialized fields. |
| In order to make the application commercially viable, the decision is made to invest in a server park. |
| The complete application is rewritten to run on a Linux platform. The code is divided into several sub-programs capable of running independently. |
| The LSA - LSI application is used for the first time on the Linux platform, for backward indexing. |
| |
| August 2006 |
| Investment in Server Park I – initially built to run the LSA - LSI calculations, this park is now used exclusively for web crawling. |
| |
| November 2006 |
| Investment in Server Park II – these servers are used to approximate the ideal content or ContentDNA by using the LSO techniques. |
| |
| June 2007 |
| LSOtool® is founded as a company of independent owners, each with their own expertise. And today LSOtool® is up and running on our two dedicated Linux server- parks in Gent, Belgium. |
